Providing Opportunity
Our mission is to alleviate cultural barriers and systemic discrimination females face in STEAM. We work towards our mission by cultivating confidence and leadership skills to prepare high school women in the Inland Empire for high-level STEAM careers. We aim to nurture a positive association with STEAM by providing meaningful scientific opportunities.
Our overall goal is to increase female representation in STEAM careers and inspire females to pursue higher education in the STEAM fields.
Founded by Jennifer Le
The collaborative environment of my research lab was such an integral part of cultivating my self-confidence that I was inspired to create a program that would replicate this positive environment, but for women at an earlier age. I founded Queens of STEAM to provide a supportive community and foster critical reasoning skills by guiding high school students to formulate and conduct their own experiments in various STEM fields. We aim to provide female role models who can demystify science, potential career paths, and women’s abilities to undertake scientific research. We prepare high school women for high-level STEM careers by providing meaningful scientific opportunities and empowering women to mentor the future generation of researchers.
